Able, the 1700 Pound Steer

AbleHello, My name is Able and I am a 1700 pound steer.  If it wasn't for the Montana Large Animal Sanctuary and Rescue, I would not be around today. You see, the Sanctuary provides homes and healthcare for neglected, unwanted or hard to care for animals. My case was that  I had a disease known as "Lump Jaw" which caused a large growth and disfiguring of my jaw.

A successful surgery was performed on me in March of 1997 and I moved from Port Townsend Washington and now I live peacefully at my new home in northwestern Montana.

AbleThe Sanctuary provides me and many other needy animals with a place to be loved and cared for. For some it is the only chance they have to live a full life. We always welcome newcomers and look forward to helping others. We all have something in common. Any animal with special needs, old age, or no place to go has a loving home here with us!  Another friend of mine with an amazing story is Charlie Russell, a quarter horse who was dying of starvation before the Sanctuary rescued him.
